Three Dead After South Allentown Accident

JENKINTOWN PERSONAL INJURY ATTORNEYS

Three men are dead after a two-car crash in south Allentown. The investigation revealed that speeding and illegal passing were contributing factors.

The Allentown accident occurred at 10:42 p.m. on June 16 in the 700 block of East Susquehanna Street. Chad A. Fluck, 23, was driving with his brother Kenneth Marcks, 35, and their cousin Thomas Fallstich Jr., 46. They were on their way to a local convenience store.

The crash occurred when Fluck crossed the yellow line and was attempting to pass a car driven by a friend, 22-year-old Timothy Flores. Both cars were travelling at a high rate of speed exceeding 70 miles per hour. The posted speed limit is 35 M.P.H. Fluck lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree. The three men in the vehicle suffered fatal injuries. The coroner pronounced the men dead at 11:30 p.m.

Flores suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries. He was taken to St. Luke’s University Hospital in Fountain Hill where he was treated and released.

Flores has recovered from his injuries. He has been charged with driving on a suspended license. This is his 8th charge of driving on a suspended license since August 2009.

An accident construction team is trying to determine whether the cars were racing before the accident. According to local residents, high speeds and racing are common on that stretch of road. Authorities are also waiting for the results of blood alcohol and toxicology tests on both drivers.

Flores is cooperating with police and has not been charged, Hendricks said. The accident reconstruction team’s investigation could last a few days, Hendricks said, and toxicology tests from the autopsy could take weeks.

Friends have put crosses and flowers at the crash site in memory of the three victims. Our Allentown accident attorneys would like to add our condolences to those affected by this tragic loss.
