Several Overnight Philly Crashes Leave One Dead, Multiple Injured

During the overnight hours between Friday night and Saturday morning, January 12, 2013, three separate motor vehicle accidents in Philadelphia occurred that injured several motorists and left one person dead.
The first car crash in the Port Richmond area involved two vehicles. Police stated that the accident took place on Westmoreland Street, but that there were no injuries reported. Police are still investigating the cause of this crash.
The second motor vehicle accident of the night occurred around 1:58 a.m. on Roosevelt Boulevard near 4th Street. This crash involved a 2004 Pontiac Bonneville traveling northbound at a high rate of speed. According to police, the male driver lost control at 5th Street and hit a tree with his car. Sadly, a 24-year-old female passenger was pronounced dead from her injuries, and the male driver was taken to Einstein Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
About thirty minutes later, another crash occurred on Roosevelt Boulevard near Adams Avenue. This wreck involved two trauma patients. One victim was transported to Einstein Medical Center, and the other person was taken to Torresdale hospital for treatment.
All the victims’ names have not been released at this time, and the conditions of those injured remain unknown. Police are still investigating these three accidents.
