Program Looks to Limit Accidents in the Philadelphia Workplace
JENKINTOWN PERSONAL INJURY ATTORNEYS
A new program initiated by the Philadelphia Insurance Company seeks to protect employees from dangerous slip, trip and fall accidents in the Pennsylvania workplace.
According to a document released by the company describing the program, nearly 8.9 million individuals visit the emergency room each year from slip, trip and fall accidents. These accidents are the second leading cause of workplace fatalities, causing families to pick up the pieces. With the best interests of both employers and employees in mind, the goal of this new program is to help reduce these dangerous accidents from occurring in the first place.
As part of the program’s plan, Philadelphia Insurance announced the inaugural “Safe Steps Week”, held in October, to help businesses and organizations identify a clear path for preventing dangerous slip, trip and fall accidents in the workplace. The program provides simple, cost-effective solutions that are simple and easily implemented.
“Failure to take simple risk management steps can lead to severe injury for individuals and put financial strain on a business or organization,” Mark Konchan, vice president of Philadelphia Insurance Risk Management Services said. “Employee injuries from falls can lead to missed time…Just five minutes of time or a five dollar safety investment can save dozens of hours, thousands of dollars in the long run, and possibly someone’s life.”
Safety in the workplace can go a long way to preventing accidents. If you or someone you love has been injured from an accident in the Philadelphia workplace, call the workplace accident attorneys of Mednick, Mezyk & Kredo today at 888-807-WORK (9675) for a free case evaluation.
