Philadelphia Super Bowl Party Safety Guide
JENKINTOWN PERSONAL INJURY ATTORNEYS
What do you do on Super Bowl Sunday? For many Philadelphia football fans, a Super Bowl party is a tradition. Others prefer to watch the game at a sports bar. While many will drink, not all football fans will drink responsibly. According to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA), there are 75% more drunk driving crashes on Super Bowl Sunday than on any other Sunday of the year.
On February 2, Philadelphia area police departments will be stepping up patrols and cracking down on drunk drivers.
Help Prevent Philadelphia Drunk Driving Crashes
- If you plan to attend a party where alcohol will be served, plan your ride home in advance. Make sure your designated driver is reliable.
- Have a back-up plan in case your designated driver decides to drink. Bring enough money to pay for a taxi.
- Decide ahead of time how much you will drink.
- Drink slowly. Alternate alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Eat food during the party.
- Don’t let a friend drive drunk. Take away the friend’s keys and help them find a safe ride.
- Never get into a car with an impaired driver.
- If you see a drunk driver, find a safe place to pull over and call 911. You may save a life.
- Buckle up.
