Can I Sue for Falling on a Slippery Substance in a Store?
JENKINTOWN PERSONAL INJURY ATTORNEYS
Yes. If you slipped and fell in a store, you should contact a lawyer right away. The lawyer must send a letter to the store immediately requesting that they maintain video evidence of your fall and for a period of time before the fall. We request a minimum of 6 hours before the fall and two hours after the fall. That will generally allow us to see how the substance got onto the floor and how long it had been there before your fall and this evidence will assist in proving your case. If the store destroys or fails to preserve the evidence, we can use that to show the evidence would have been adverse to their interests.
