JENKINTOWN PERSONAL INJURY ATTORNEYS

The freedoms of working outdoors are often coveted by those who are stuck inside for over eight hours a day. However, these outdoor jobs often come with some very serious health risks, even those that are potentially fatal. The Philadelphia workers’ compensation attorneys at Mednick, Mezyk & Kredo want you to know the risks outdoor jobs can carry, and hopefully prevent and protect against fatal workplace accidents in Pennsylvania.

A recent review of the nation’s 20 deadliest outdoor jobs in America shows the risks that many outdoor workers face each day that they go to work. Across the country, the national average for annual workplace deaths is 3.5 for every 100,000 workers. For some of the deadliest outdoor jobs in America, the annual average is anywhere from triple to nearly 40 times more than the average occupation.

The deadliest jobs in America collectively average 358 deaths per 100,000 workers each year. These involve risks such as heavy, dangerous machinery, working from great heights and in the open seas. While risks are prevalent in these industries, so are a multitude of safety procedures designed to protect every employee.
