2013 Changes in Pennsylvania Workers’ Comp Debit Card Payment Program
JENKINTOWN PERSONAL INJURY ATTORNEYS
Pennsylvanians collecting workers’ compensation benefits via the State Debit Card Payment Program will see an increase in no-fee ATMs and an overall decrease in fees, State Treasurer Rob McCord announced on January 24th. The new system will save the Pennsylvania state government more than $5 million in fees and the savings will be passed on to those who are currently using the convenient debit cards to receive Pennsylvania workers’ compensation payments.
The changes will increase the number of free-of-charge ATMs available for fund withdrawal to 3,200 throughout the state. It will also decrease the fees associated with everyday transactions such as transferring funds and usage fees. Pennsylvanians will appreciate the convenience of the new system.
New cards will be issued in mid-to-late February with the last deposit on the old cards occurring on March 15, 2013. Users will have six months to use the remaining funds on their old debit cards and are able to use their new cards immediately.
